Merge declined, expansion requested

[edit]

Per discussion at Talk:Superconductivity#Merge from superconducting wire, contributors felt it best to keep this article separate. To reflect that, I've removed the merge template. That said, this article definitely needs expansion. Most of the topics suitable for the article are touched on already in the stub, but deserve more than a one-sentence treatment (useful ways to draw wires incorporating ceramic superconductor powders, for example).

If anyone feels up to the task, by all means take a stab at it; just remember to reference additions, and keep an eye on content-balance issues (no single aspect of the topic should dominate the article). --Christopher Thomas (talk) 04:12, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Should mention upper/lower critical field for magnet applications

[edit]

Many/most application of SC 'wires' are to make magnets eg for MRI/NMR or plasma/fusion research so the cable construction to maximise eg flux pinning, is important. - Rod57 (talk) 01:22, 5 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
