classic
[edit]Oh yes. Super Dave Osborne. The classic comedy act launched in Canada on a Canadian channel. For years I thought this guy was Canadian. His shows are truly great, over-the-top crazy stuff. This isn't no levitation bullcrap from Criss Angel, this guy is the real thing. -Stoneman
Bob has the most hilarious stare, that I've ever seen. I remember him on BIZARRE (1980-85), when he'd (part of the act) scold John Byner or Tom Harvey or even the audience, about things he felt were said & done wrong on the show (this would bring on the stare). Then as Super Dave, wel he was Classic simply classic. User:GoodDay 22:00, 18 November 2005 (UTC).

Einstein's other roles
[edit]As I recall, This actor played a motorcycle cop on the Smothers' Brothers show. But it doesn't mention it here and the link to the actor is directed here.
Shouldn't there be an article under the actor's name and it include his entire career? 68.48.174.136 03:48, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
- Following TheHYPO's split of the article I have linked the Smothers' Brothers article to the actor's article instead of this one. Gds 12:12, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
I think we need to split this article.
[edit]I think this article needs to be split between Einstein and Super Dave. I don't think that in this case Super Dave is a stage name (like Joey Bishop is the stage name of Joseph Abraham Gottlieb). A stage name implies that this is the name someone uses when they are billed in the entertainment world. If you watch Super Dave, exec producer is listed as Bob Einstein. It's not his stage name, it's simply the name of a character he plays. If you go talk to him on the street, I'm guessing he doesn't act like super dave. That's a character, not who he is. I will endeavour to split it... now actually. TheHYPO 08:33, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
- I have no split this article into three (at least). Super Dave Osborne, Super Dave (show) for his variety show and the main basis for his 'lore', Bob Einstein for the actor, Super Dave is now a disambig between the character and the show as opposed to a redirect. TheHYPO 09:10, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
I question the characterization of "greedy." I think of super dave as "Well intended" and "good hearted" but I have not seen every appearance of the character. Doesn't he always help children and pets and do his best to follow the American way?

Super Dave Osborne's brother
[edit]Unless there was an episode in which he said he did as a joke, there is no brother to speak of. Albert Brook is the brother of Bob Einstein. Bob Einstein is an actor. Super Dave is a character he plays. I hope that is clear, and people stop adding his relation to this article. TheHYPO (talk) 09:00, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
