[edit]The existence of court documents, all open to the public, detail facts. News reports detail rumor. Let’s deal with facts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:8C1:8480:8D95:5954:4092:EA45:9FAD (talk) 04:56, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
Closure
[edit]I restored in part, the section about the temporary closure of Sunspot, New Mexico. The solar observatory and the post office were temporarily closed because of safety concerns. Many unincorporated communities and census-designated places, in the United States, have their unique history, architecture, places of interest, etc. Sunspot, New Mexico also has its own unique history. - It turns out a janitor was arrested. Wikipedia is WP:NOTNEWS, and this has no lasting significance for this article. Alsee (talk) 19:46, 6 October 2018 (UTC)
- Eventually, the temporary closure event will have to be added back to the article. This is part of the history of Sunspot, New Mexico. Unincorporated communities and census-designated places have their unique history. The temporary closure event was mentioned in the national and international press. - Edited to update story on National Press, as suggested by RFD.
- RFD, please refrain from simply reediting back to your version. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alamo NM (talk • contribs) 16:10, 21 November 2018 (UTC)

Several references involving the temporary closure of Sunspot, New Mexico and the observatory has been continuing removed. The temporary closure incident is part of the history of Sunspot, New Mexico and the observatory and should be included in the Sunspot, New Mexico article and the observatory article. Comments would be appreciated. Thank you-RFD (talk) 11:14, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
- I removed the only comment remaining today as unsourced, and I agree it's WP:NOTNEWS. I noted in my edit summary that BURDEN applies, and obviously it does, but even the unsourced content I removed lacked sufficient context for it to make sense. Can't see how that context can be provided while still respecting WP:WEIGHT and WP:RECENT. John from Idegon (talk) 04:59, 25 May 2019 (UTC)
