Some questions I'd love to see this article shed light on: Is there any historical record of the founding of the community? Was Ramagosa (owned it before the POA came in) the original owner?

[Robert and William Ramagosa] are natives of the area. The property was bought by their grandfather and subdivided by their father. William Ramagosa said he and his brother began building homes there in the early 1960s. They build about 20 year-round homes a year.
There was no lake in Sunrise Lake Estates. So several years ago, the brothers cleared out a swamp and created an 80-acre lake. William Ramagosa said he wasn’t aware of the wetland provisions that require government permission to do such things. State and federal officials later told the Ramagosas that they should not have dug out the lake, William said, but the brothers were not fined."
