Released

[edit]

It is currently 4:24 AM, Wednesday, August 12, 2009 in Japan. Therefore, this single has been released. But whether or not it has been released, according to MP's bible, Wikipedia:NSONGS, "generally, an album should not have an independent article until its title, track listing and release date have all been publicly confirmed by the artist or their record label." Those have long been announced. In addition, "Articles and information about albums with confirmed release dates in the near future must be confirmed by reliable sources and should use the {{future-album}} tag. Separate articles should not be created until there is sufficient reliably sourced information about a future release." Instead of deleting the contents of this article, one could add the {{future-album}}. If anyone could tell me how this article fails NSONGS, I would love to know. --Eugeniu Bmsg 19:25, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Here's how you are wrong about it passing WP:NSONGS, all that you have just copied and pasted refers to albums not singles, as you surely can see, since the {{future-album}} tag is used in that sentence and not the {{future-single}} tag. This is what Sunrise/Sunset falls under,

"Most songs do not rise to notability for an independent article and should redirect to another relevant article, such as for the songwriter, a prominent album or for the artist who prominently performed the song. Songs that have been ranked on national or significant music charts, that have won significant awards or honors or that have been performed independently by several notable artists, bands or groups are probably notable. Notability aside, a separate article on a song is only appropriate when there is enough verifiable material to warrant a reasonably detailed article; articles unlikely ever to grow beyond stubs should be merged to articles about an artist or album."

Now as you can see there is no proof of nobility. Sure it was released in Japan already, but has it charted yet? No, it has not so it fails. It also, fails WP:N, which is also mention on WP:MUSIC. For bullet one, "significant coverage", there is none. And for bullet four, "independent of the subject", meaning the sources should come from something other than the artists official site or the company's official site. Find third party sources via Google JP or some other WP:RS then it'll pass WP:GNG, which will, at the moment, be enough. Or wait until it charts on the daily chart and then undo the redirect. Because then, it will pass WP:NSONGS. MS (Talk|Contributions) 20:07, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
How about some common sense. Every single one of Ayumi Hamasaki's singles have charted and have an article. This single WILL chart and WILL have an article. Now if it WILL have an article, what's the point of hiding information? What's the point of waiting a few hours until Sunrise/Sunset (Love Is All) appears on the Oricon charts? What example are you trying to set here? The way I see it, there are two definitions of a "single". According to the article on singles, a single is a song. Sunrise/Sunset (Love Is All) is not a song. It is a set of five songs and three video clips. Therefore, it falls into the "album" category. Of course song themselves are usually not significant enough to have their own articles. That's why we don't see articles like "Sunruse (Ayumi Hamasaki song)" and "Sunset (Ayumi Hamasaki song)". --Eugeniu Bmsg 20:40, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There is already a discussion on this at the WP:NSONGS page, and while I myself agree that it can have a premature page, does it really hurt not have it? Technically, it is still speculation that her singles will chart, which is probably the main reason it isn't allowed a premature page. It is no big deal at all really, and if you hate it so much call up other some more users for discussion, or head over to JPopStop! They won't dispute you. The "Is"

[edit]

Why do we have it capital? Is it not more correct to have it lower case? Even the single cover doesn't have it capitalized... I was going to change it myself, but I have no expertise with that, and would likely screw it up. As well, if it's been like this for so long, I figured there may be a reason. MOS:J dictates we have to. If that didn't exist, we could also just re-title the page to the actual single title, "Sunrise/Sunset (LOVE is ALL)". Eugeniu B +1 02:37, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Non-NPOV

[edit]

Can we all please quit adding Non-NPOV information to Ayumi's single releases. No one cares about your fan-boy or fan-girl obsession. 69.155.81.246 (talk) 20:11, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed in your edits to the article you didn't actually remove anything, just added some tags. You should read up on WP:BOLD. Eugeniu B +1 02:34, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Accuracy

[edit]

Weather it is a day, an hour, or minute before chart releases are known or released, assumptions aren't fact. Readers of the article will assume the information to be correct as it should be, however, if your assumption managed to fail and ultimately prove to have been incorrect, readers of the article receives inaccurate material. This is one of the reasons why a premature page should not be posted before accurate sited material is available. Don't be so hasty when editing and please keep articles neutral. There are numerous fan sites for nearly every artist where you can post your opinion. --Phantasie Der Eule (talk) 01:00, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
