If the fact that Summersteps has been in existence for 13 years is not significant enough for inclusion, the number of artists they publish is certainly significant and the fact that one of those artists has had moderate national success (including being featured in Spin magazine) must certainly carry some weight. - Please see WP:MUSIC and WP:CORP. You list several artists there, none of them but one seem to be notable, and you have not established the notability of the company itself using third-party sources. §FreeRangeFrog 01:54, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
- Nor does Suckapunch Records cite sources (article posted 2006), nor does Sumthing Distribution (also posted 2006), nor does Sunspot Records (up since Nov '08), nor does Such-A-Punch Media (up since 2005), nor does Surprise Attack Records (up since 2005), nor does Sublime Exile Recordings (up since 2006). Though the article on Summersteps may not meet the letter of the standards that you cite, it certainly meets or exceeds the standards of common practice. I believe that if U2 had been the only notable act for Island Records, Wikipedia would still have had an article on Island. Furthermore, my being the first to list these artists does not render them insignificant; it only means that others have yet to capture that notability for inclusion. I'll stick with my original argument and we'll see what the powers-that-be decide. Kindofdavish (talk) 02:40, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
- The fact that there are articles about other companies similar to yours that make equal or lesser claims to notability is simply a reflection on the lack of active oversight by editors, but it does not necessarily validate yours. Having said that, the deletion was contested by an admin based on your claims, so you should be OK now. On afterthought I should have not tagged the article for deletion as I did to begin with, and I'm not going to now, either. I apologize for not removing the tag earlier. §FreeRangeFrog 16:36, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

I've removed the latest notice for deletion. An administrator has already decided on this issue and has ruled that the subject is notable. Kindofdavish (talk) 21:58, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
