The sentence, "By early September, there were calls to pass legislation to help 'control the problem,' and legislation prohibiting the feeding of sharks was enacted in Florida on November 1, becoming a law on the January 1, 2002," makes it seem as though the Florida legislation prohibiting the feeding of sharks was in response to the shark attacks. However, the referenced news article states that the legislation enacted was "a source of controversy for two years" and repeatedly states, "Officials said the action was not related to a series of highly publicized shark attacks in Florida this summer," and "officials emphasize the commission action has nothing to do with the recent deaths or the injury earlier this summer." Indeed the Florida legislation seems to stem from a conflict between recreational divers and operators of shark feeding tours. Because of this, I would like to remove the reference to the Florida legislation from this article. If anyone has a reference to legislation that was actually in response to the shark attacks of 2001, then perhaps the sentence can be left more or less the same except with its reference replaced. The book linked to as Reference #8 is listed as being written by Loren L. Coleman the science fiction and BattleTech writer, but it seems far more likely that it was actually written by Loren Coleman the cryptozoologist. They seem to be frequently confused online, and it doesn't help at all that the target link to archive.org freely mixes the works of both authors without differentiation, but a significant clue is that the cover of the book lists the author as just Loren Coleman, while the BattleTech author always goes by Loren L. Coleman because he is aware of the confusion. I would go ahead and change the reference to the correct Loren Coleman, but I don't know how.
