External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Summer capital. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20121104183734/http://www.chinatravelz.com:80/china/Inner-Mongolia/Xilinhot/yuanshangdu/index.asp to http://www.chinatravelz.com/china/Inner-Mongolia/Xilinhot/yuanshangdu/index.asp
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

False summer capitals
[edit]Several of the places listed as 'summer capitals' (those in Estonia, Lithuania and Russia) are not summer capitals as defined in the opening sentence ('a city used as an administrative capital during extended periods of particularly hot summer weather'), but simply popular resorts that are not normally known as 'summer capitals' in English. Only places like Simla in British India, Taif in Saudi Arabia and San Sebastián in Franco's Spain really count, for the seat of government was/is moved there to enable the ruling classes to escape the sweltering heat - in contrast, some of the other places are visited specifically because of the summer heat (in countries with very cold winters). This strikes me as a typical failing of Wikipedia - unrelated things are linked simply on the basis of words, whether or not these mean the same thing.213.127.210.95 (talk) 14:57, 13 April 2016 (UTC)
Plan for US Summer Capital
[edit]I'm trying to find out about attempts to move the US capital westward to the Rocky Mountains, perhaps just for summers, but it's hard to find any information about that online. If anybody knows anything about that, this might be a good place to post the information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.95.174.225 (talk) 23:43, 7 December 2017 (UTC)
