International potential
[edit]This is unreferenced and sounds like original research, so I'm moving it here. Jpatokal 14:52, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
As Subang is closer to downtown than KLIA, a city to city service for business passengers is possible. Many cities now have far flung international airports, but closer domestic (formerly International ones). Existing services for "city" to "city" services of Tokyo Haneda to Shanghai Hongqiao and Seoul Gimpo to Tokyo Haneda often total travel times are cut in half over their international counterparts.
Potential exists for Subang-Don Mueang (Bangkok), bypassing Suvarnabhumi, and Subang-Songshan Airport (Taipei), cutting out an hour or more of ground based commute time.
SUBANG is 30KM to KLCC as opposed to 75KM for KLIA. However, this airport is a menace when going through rush hours as traffic snarls along the Federal Highway to KL or vice versa can take as long as 2 hours to clear. New alternative is to take the DUKE highway to NKVE and then snip of Sg Buluh exit and take a right to the airport bypass road towards Bandar Baru Sg Buluh. Though LONGER, it beats the traffic hands down anytime. Toll? RM5. Taxi: About RM29 by meter, RM40 as charged.
Locals even joked that the airport is a BAS EXPRESS hub, commuter hub as the turbo props services only 70 passengers and it's like a bus service.
Firefly make the airport now an INTERNATIONAL one, with (B) state immigration stamps serving SINGAPORE (4x daily), PHUKET , KOH SAMUI in Thailand,PEKAN BARU, MEDAN, BATAM(2/4/6) in Indonesia. Passport is NOT MANDATORY for local travel.Quite reliable and on time as opposed to Air Asia. 15KG luggage is free!!

Rename title suggestion
[edit]I think this airport is commonly known as Subang Airport, so that should be the title. I doubt ppl call this airport by the full sultan name.(?) Or even "SAAS airport"? Just like Senai International Airport. kawaputratorque 18:38, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
- Subang Airport name has been put as a redirect to this article. Chongkian (talk) 03:31, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
