I can't shake the feeling, reading this page
[edit](linked from a pointer at Ask Metafilter), that I'm reading the Multics page. ;-)

I can't shake the feeling that I'm reading a schoolchild's essay or a second-rate article of popular science. There is no need to characterise size in terms of golf balls. It's not clear how exciting a gas "to five atmospheres pressure" causes heating or what is meant by "a large area". There are comments which I'd expect to hear in a bar, not read in an encyclopaedia e.g. "As usual with patents, though, only commercial applications will reveal whether this design is viable".Mike Shepherd (talk) 08:07, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
Why is the Sulphur lamp promoted for plant growth?
[edit]Could somebody please elaborate if using a broadband light source is really efficient to foster plant growth? Don't plants grow best when stimulated with a select few narrow bands of light within the (near)visible spectrum [citation needed]. If this is correct wouldn't there be better alternative light sources (e.g. suitably designed LEDs) that emit most of their light in those bands? 23:50, 9 March 2007 (UTC) ==YesLonginus876 (talk) 07:20, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
