Sui-Meng
[edit]Suiyuan Province was reconstituted by the communist authorities on June 15th 1949. Before this date the area was controlled by the communists and called Sui-Meng, since it contained the old Republican Province of Suiyuan and parts of what was called Mengkiang (modern spelling Mengjiang), when it was controlled by the Japanese. It seems likely that Sui-Meng was controlled by the communists continuously from the end of the war with Japan, but I don't have confirmation of that.
