New study linking anti-trans laws to increase in transgender youth suicides

[edit]

A new study was just published in Nature magazine on State-level anti-transgender laws increase past-year suicide attempts among transgender and non-binary young people in the USA (accessible via Wikilibrary), NPR article. I added a paragraph summarizing it to the article, but figured I'd highlight it here on the talkpage for editors to expand further. Suicide among LGBTQ youthSuicide among LGBTQ people – I think it would be beneficial to broaden the scope of this article. Suicide is a prominent issue within the LGBTQ+ community and by no means is confined or limited to LGBTQ+ youth. Helper201 (talk) 23:36, 12 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per nom. Suicide is indeed a large issue due to things like discrimination, and there is no clear reasoning as to why the article is specified as youth suicide and not LGBTQ+ suicide in general.
