Lydia Harris

Who is Lydia Harris? She doesn't have a wikipedia article nor is her title mentioned anywhere, there isn't any "Personal Life" section to this biography and well, I the reader have no way of knowing who she is, I can only assume she is the wife of Suge, but how when why what where is beyond me. Please elaborate anyone who can.

Lydia Harris is the wife of Micheal Harris AKA "Harry-O" The invisible master mind and money behind "Death Row Records" who during the rise and fall of death row was behind bars for conspiracy to murder and drug charges. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.183.143.207 (talk) 18:48, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

1st Hip-Hop Double Album?

It was not Tupac's "All Eyes on Me," it was Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince's "He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper." I hate it when people overdo it on the history or lie to inflate what once was. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.235.94.254 (talk) 20:46, August 25, 2007 (UTC)

Removed content

I removed:

Suge Knight is also viewed with suspicion by Snoop Dogg, who was once one of Suge Knight's biggest stars at Death Row Records, as well as a majority of the hip hop community. Many people believe that Suge has information about the murder of Tupac Shakur. Some people have even suggested that Suge himself might have been directly involved in the Shakur or The Notorious B.I.G. assassinations.

I did so because I follow such things somewhat closely and have never heard that Knight might know anything about Shakur's murder and the idea he might have been involved in the murder of his most profitable act is simply ludicrous without something to back it up. While a more detailed explanation of conspiracy theories regarding Knight and Biggie would be welcome, this is not neutral. The Snoop Dogg bit similarly should be part of info on exactly how Death Row imploded, as it is it smacks of propaganda, as though Snoop was such a honest and trustworthy man that his suspicion of Knight is evidence of guilt for some crime. The details of Death Row's demise are complicated and can not be summed up by a few sentence description of Knight's shadiness. Tuf-Kat

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound biased against Knight. I based my comments on that new Tupac/Biggie video that's out where they have a clip of a Suge Knight interview. The interviewer asks Knight if he'd let the cops know if he has information about who killed Tupac, and he replied "absolutely...not". I've also seen several MTV interviews where it's questioned.

Emotional rant against Suge

Well hmmm... here's an idea, how about we figure out how to factor into the article the fact that:

a) Marion Knight was exploiting Tupac Shakur in terms of denied payments, false accounting charges, and contract manipulations

b) Tupac Shakur was made aware of this around the same time he had finished the final album necessary to release him from his Death Row contract

c) Shakur had terminated his relationship with the Death Row attorney (aka advantage taking SOB) David Kenner in the days leading up to his death

d) Shakur was known to have been preparing for a variety of business moves: the establishment of an independent record label for distribution purposes; the establishment of a publishing house; the establishment of a film company. These claims are supported by specific trademark registrations made on behalf of Shakur as well as by first-hand accounts by several of Shakur's associates, both friendly to him and otherwise

e) The massive catalog of work which Tupac had produced during his days at Deathrow would follow Shakur as he departed from the Death Row agreement ... or, wait ... omg if he died, it would all stay! And ... and the profits could keep on coming ... and ... and Suge would show people in the industry who's really in charge!?!

f) Suge told Tupac to take of his bulletproof vest on the night of his shooting

g) Suge did not head for the nearest hospital after Tupac was shot in Vegas

h) Suge pulled Tupac back into the line of fire (or, his story 'pulled him down') after Tupac had tried to scatter into the back seat of the 7-series. Oh no no Mr. Shakur, it's much safter here in the front seat

i) And, just to cut off the line of argument before it enters your mind -- no, it really isn't that ballsy to call a hit on someone in the same car as you - the next time you pull up to someone at an intersection, realize how close you are to that other car. Now imagine if you got out of your car and aimed. There would be absolutely no difficult in shooting one but not the other passenger, especially the one closer to you. It's not amazing that Suge wasn't hit other than the grazing shot to his head -- it's a screwup that he was hit at all, even grazed.

We should figure out how to incorporate all of this into the article somehow ...

I've got it:

Suge Knight is a murderer. Thank God he's a washed up, no longer respected, financially failing murderer in 2005.

yeah I agree, he is an evil, bloodthrsty sadist.

This deserves mention in the front article, and it deserves mention if for no other reason than the fact that Suge's selfish and evil actions deprived the world of a leading light to young people across America ... to a talented individual who, for as much as he was a brilliant rapper, promised so much more for the nascent new millenial young man.

How about them apples?

I hope someone reads what I have written and has the time and inspiration to make Suge's absolute culpability known in the form of that front page article.

If no one else does so in the coming months, I'll make the changes.

ME

- Yeah I totally agree with you, but the front page is conclusive. Leave it be. -ingenio 6/19/06

How about no because that is basically an opinion and has nothing to do with an encyclopedia/wikipedia entry which requests and requires facts, not fan based opinion.. Check the feelings at the door. UDStyle 07:14, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

-Although I agree that it was most likely Suge Knight who killed Tupac, I wouldnt incorporate this onto the article page. For one, this is not the place to do it, maybe create a 'theory' page. Secondly, some of your evidence is flawed which brings down the credibility. It was not Suge Knight who told Tupac not to wear his vest, watch some of the documentaries or read LAbyrinth (good book). I believe that it was Tupac himself or Kidada Jones who decided not to PACK the bulletproof vest when heading to vegas. ORBJ 18:19, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

Raped

The raped by ms-13 members has to be a joke, not to mention there is no source on it and should be removed.

I agree. - orbj

Football?

Please leave football as American football because of the way the name is associated in every other country, also it is known on Wikipedia as "American football" and should be treated as such. Cokehabit 10:23, 1 September 2005 (UTC)

I'm quite aware of this, although let's see if this latest ammendment works. If not maybe we can ammend it to include both terms since the type of football, albeit "American" football is assumed to be just "football" if you refer it in the context of that sentence (Raiders, NFL), that the assumed standard default is just "football", even in places outside of the U.S. and Canada. Drdr1989 17:02, 1 September 2005 (UTC)

Suge is also very fat. We forgot to add very ugly. Ugly and fat. These are facts.

This article sucks

There, I said it. This article skips over the entire height of Suge Knight's career, instead delving deeplyinto crimes he may or may not have been implicated in. There's more that can be said about this guy than what is in here, and a lot of what is here probably shouldn't be. The development of Death Row really should have more attention paid to it in this article, for instance. Less gossip and more cited historical fact could go a long way here. Revert

MAY 5--Dogged by $12 million in tax liens and other legal judgments, rap music titan Marion "Suge" Knight is down to $11 in his checking accounts and the bling on his back, according to a bankruptcy court filing. The Death Row Records founder, who filed for Chapter 11 protection last month, claims that his $4.4 million in assets is dwarfed by $137.4 million in debt. He filed for bankruptcy shortly after being hit with a $100 million judgment in a lawsuit brought by a woman who claims she was instrumental in the founding of Death Row. According to schedules filed in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles (excerpts of which you'll find below), the 41-year-old Knight has no monthly income and meager asssets, including $25,000 in jewelry and clothing worth $1000. He also lists monthly expenses of about $30,000, the majority of which ($24,700) is earmarked for "alimony, maintenance, and support paid to others." While Knight's plight seems dire, his court filing lists as "unknown" the value of his interest in ten companies, including Death Row, Getto Records, and Blood Money Entertainment. We're not sure how Suge plans to emerge from bankruptcy, but perhaps the Bloods-affiliated producer could once again hang Vanilla Ice by his feet off a hotel balcony--only this time, he'll have to see if any change falls from the wack rapper's pockets.

involved in Easy E's death?

this article claims Knight was somehow involved in Easy E's death,BUT Easy E died of aids related illnesses, just how Knight could have mastermided this is beyond me!mabye he paid off easys chef to give him the flu or somting,or mabye is alot of nonsence.

Someone must have confused Eazy E with Jam Master Jay. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hypermagic (talkcontribs) 2006-08-01

knight once talked about blood transfusions in an interview, and mentioned eazy-e. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHqnqRvcKF8 Markthemac 13:12, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Chapter 11 bankruptcy

canadian entrepenur but born in LA????

what?

Factual Errors up the yin-yang

The article says Suge Knight was born in BOTH Nova Scotia AND California? How is that possible? He was also most definitely not born in 1984. This article is in need of some dire fact-checking and cleanup, if not an outright rewrite. -RichNYC87

Vanilla Ice

What about the Vanilla Ice dangling incident?

Robert Van Winkle was held by his feet over a blacony and forced to sign over all rights and proceeds to ice ice baby...Which funded death row records. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.183.143.207 (talk) 18:51, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

Assailants August 2005

"Police say they have not been able to identify the would-be assailants, but they are still talking with eyewitnesses."? This happened over a year ago. There's got to be a hell of a lot of eyewitnesses if they are still interviewing them. --Lhademmor 10:03, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

Involvement with 2pac-Biggie Murders

Some one should make an entry in this article with extensive citations to the rolling stone article that was published a while back. It mostly collects all the information regarding suge and the tupac-biggie murders. It can be found online here:

http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/8898338/the_unsolved_mystery_of_the_notorious_big/

JDL section irrelevant

I don't feel the section of the article that discusses the JDL and Eazy E is all that relevant primarily because it hardly talks about Knight at all, his name is only mentioned once! There is a huge amount missing, namely his American football career, details about his involvement with 2Pac's death, his prison terms, and recent activity. With this absence, the JDL section looks all the more disproportionately large. Unfortunately, I'm no expert on Knight's life, but perhaps the JDL section should become a separate article to balance this one out. Just my two cents, thanks.

I agree. That's why I suggest merging it into Death Row Records and taking it out of this article. It's not germane to this article. Blockhouse 15:15, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

News

Suge was recently evicted from his mansion, maybe that is worth adding.

that was found to be a rumor only. UDStyle 07:08, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

About suge knight giving Eazy E aids

Although it has no place in this article because it's all hearsay and conjecture with NO evidence, if a guy were to hate another guy enough, and the first guy knew that the second guy had a lot of unprotected sex with loose women, wouldn't sending a crack-addicted (but nice-looking) whore with aids in his direction be the perfect way to get rid of him? Did they ever find out who Eazy got aids from?!

2008

On May 10th 2008, Knight was involved in an altercation involving money outside of a nightclub in Hollywood. Joe Cardyn from Austin Texas is the one who landed the lethal blow. He was knocked unconscious for 3 minutes, taken to the hospital, and did not cooperate with the police.[2] [3]

The references do not name Joe Cardyn as the puncher. This site reports a barber shop owner named Greg as the puncher.

Not to mention, if it were a "lethal blow", wouldn't Suge be dead? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.6.145.136 (talk) 18:28, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Dr. Dre's Son's Death?

Dr. Dre's son died recently, and I'm wondering if maybe Suge Knight was involved. Because, Suge produced The Chronic and after that Death Row Records had trouble. I have a a belief, that maybe Suge Knight killed the son in a way to try to get back at Dre, any thoughts? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.171.37.115 (talk) 04:59, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
