Date

I am pretty sure that the 1827 date for the covered bridge's construction is incorrect. It was my understanding that the bridge was constructed during the Civil War, but online references I have found shows the bridge was actually built in 1880,

I believe that the book Sugar Creek: Life on the Illinois Prairie ^[3] discusses the community that built this bridge and has more information. I will seek out this information and post it at a later point. This book is not available in a computerized format. What are the reasonable use rules regarding its use as a resource? Could I scan a few relevant pages and post those for review by anyone fact checking my information, or is the book reference sufficient?

It's perfectly acceptable to cite offline sources, and there's no requirement to make them available online. Other editors are expected to assume good faith, and if someone wants to fact-check the information, they can find the book in a library.
