Question
[edit]Did Sugandha personally lead her army, or did she stay back? The women in war category excludes female rulers who waged war but did not directly participate in it, and I can't seem to find any context about her precise role. Asarelah (talk) 16:29, 26 May 2014 (UTC)
Death venue
[edit]Verse 262, Stein translates to After imprisoning her, they put her to death in the Nispalaka (?) [my emphasis] Vihara. Strange are the ways of fate, ever falling and rising
. He comments It is doubtful whether we have in nispalakaviharantas a name, as nispalaka could also be taken with P.W. as 'having no guardian'. No mention is made elsewhere of this Vihara.
