Coins versus Bills

[edit]

I changed the part discussing the buses only taking coins. That's not true, they have bill readers, but they don't give change. I know this, because everyday I get on the S57 and put in one dollar bill and 3 quarters for my fare and transfer. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.47.17.220 (talk) 21:42, 14 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:SufflokTransitlogo.JPG

[edit]

Image:SufflokTransitlogo.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

History needed

[edit]

What this article needs is a section on the private companies that preceded Suffolk County Transit, like the ones shown here. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 15:22, 15 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

DanTD I have found source(s) and will hopefully get started on this soon! RES2773 (talk) 23:39, 4 July 2015 (UTC)RES2773[reply]
Cool. I also have a sandbox with some history. Do you feel like taking anything from that? ---------User:DanTD (talk) 23:42, 4 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Criticisms?

[edit]

Suffolk County Transit is one of the most criticized public services - certainly in transportation - for the NY metropolitan region and even for the U.S. Why are there no critical reviews or mentions of some of the more heinious aspects of the transit system? As a system that is primarily utilized by retirees, those on disability and public assistance, it is not a traditional public transportation system where people who work for a living actually are able to utilize it, since nearly anyone using it to maintain a job in the private sector would eventually be fired for the irregularity of their transportation use. Reliable public transit in Suffolk County means that you have a bicycle and you power yourself...

But there have been so many studies and so many articles written that criticize the irregularity of the bus service in Suffolk, that some of those articulations ought to be included here. Thanks. Stevenmitchell (talk) 15:58, 29 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"Overly detailed?"

[edit]

Back in August, somebody tagged this article as having "contain an excessive amount of intricate detail that may interest only a particular audience." So why is it okay for Nassau Inter-County Express to have that detail, but not this article? ---------User:DanTD (talk) 12:16, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

After reading the article a couple times, I have decided to remove that tag, as it really isn't fair one page can have detail while another can't. NJTFan22 (talk) 19:17, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Adding a "new" first picture.
