This reservoir and gatehouse are historic 19th century civil engineering achievements, but the structures are used for backup, which does happen in the 21st century.--Dthomsen8 (talk) 18:42, 20 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification of Emergency Service Issues

[edit]

The reference cited states: "Clean water from the Sudbury Aqueduct and untreated water from an emergency back-up reservoir system, the Chestnut Hill Reservoir, are currently supplying affected communities and is safe for bathing, flushing, and fire prevention but not for human consumption." (my emphasis). Thus, I do not believe it is correct to have the article use the phrase "The Chestnut Hill and Sudbury water was untreated," (my emphasis again)". I have changed it to "The Chestnut Hill water was untreated,". Paradoox (talk) 04:13, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
