GA Review
[edit]Article (edit | visual edit | history) · Article talk (edit | history) · Watch
Hey, there. I'll be reviewing this article as part of my own little project to sweep through episode oriented GANs. I've been really eager to review this one in particular, as it really is a great piece of work and I really would love to see this article an FA soon! To get a look at how I'll be going through this, check out Talk:I Married Marge/GA1. Let's start! :) The Flash {talk} 03:36, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
Lead
[edit]- The articles states it was alternatively titled "The Accident" - might wanna mention it
- Done. — Hunter Kahn (c) 05:22, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- "[...]series Homicide: Life on the Street, and the 84th overall[...]" -> "Life on the Street and the 84th"
- So drop the comma? Ok, done. — Hunter Kahn (c) 05:22, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- "[...]within an hour, and Pembleton tries" -> "hour and Pembleton"
- OK. — Hunter Kahn (c) 05:22, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- Bruce MacVittie is a redlink - no need to have it wikilinked (same thing for the infobox guest star list)
- Delinked. — Hunter Kahn (c) 05:22, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- "[...]directed by Gary Fleder, and was the[...]" -> "Fleder and was"
- I seem to like commas more than you do. lol Dropped. — Hunter Kahn (c) 05:22, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- "[...]on location in one of the actual Baltimore Metropolitan Transit Authority stations." -> why do you mention "actual"? Is that where the episode takes place? Be a bit more specific.
- I changed it to a "real-life" station because that's truer to the sentiment I was trying to convey. Does that work? — Hunter Kahn (c) 05:22, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Plot
[edit]- Like above, Bruce MacVittie is a redlink and should be removed.
- Ok. — Hunter Kahn (c) 05:22, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- "[...]becomes angry when it is suggested he will die." -> Biedron or Lange?
- Lange. I tried reworkding to make it clearer. — Hunter Kahn (c) 05:22, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- Flasone's a redlink and should be removed.
- Ok. — Hunter Kahn (c) 05:22, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- "Lange tries to convince EMT Joy Tolson (Wendee Pratt) to give Lange painkillers because it will reduce their chances of saving his life, even though she simultaneously insists he cannot be saved." -> What? She wants to save him by making him have less of a chance of doing so? Can you word it better?
- My mistake in the wording. Basically, she won't give him painkillers because it means it will make him harder to save, even though she says at the same time that he can't be saved anyway no matter what they do. I tried to add wording to make it clearer. — Hunter Kahn (c) 05:22, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Pre-production
[edit]- I don't think it's necessary to link to the IMDb page for the documentary links, nor do you need to link to PBS and Baltimore for every instant - can you fix those for all the refs for it?
- Dropped the IMDb links and delinked all the PBS, Baltimores and Marylands in the refs except the first one. — Hunter Kahn (c) 05:22, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- "[...]supervising producer Julie Markin and consulting[...]" -> "Markin, and consulting"
- Ok. — Hunter Kahn (c) 05:49, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- Julie Markin doesn't have a page - please remove the wikilink
- Ok. — Hunter Kahn (c) 05:49, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- "[...]jerky people too, and I think it'd[...]" -> "people too and I"
- Ok. — Hunter Kahn (c) 05:49, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- "[...]to provide comic relief, and so that the entire[...]" -> "relief and so"
- Ok. — Hunter Kahn (c) 05:49, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- Is choosing the director really a subject of casting?
- Changed title to "Casting and director hiring"
Production
[edit]- "[...]the final scenes. The scene was modified[...]" -> "scenes; the scene"
- Ok. — Hunter Kahn (c) 05:49, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Reception
[edit]- "[...]episode ever", and praised[...]" -> "ever" and praised"
- Ok. — Hunter Kahn (c) 05:49, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
PBS Documentary "Anatomy of a 'Homicide: Life on the Street'"
[edit]- Wikilink Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in the reference.
- Ok. — Hunter Kahn (c) 05:49, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Images
[edit]- The fair use images are of fine resolution
- I attempted to lower the resolution on both. Better? — Hunter Kahn (c) 05:49, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- lol, I didn't ask but great anyways. The Flash {talk} 17:54, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- I attempted to lower the resolution on both. Better? — Hunter Kahn (c) 05:49, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- This article could still use some freeuse images - perhaps find a place for File:Vincent D'Onofrio by David Shankbone.jpg?
- Added. — Hunter Kahn (c) 05:49, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Final say
[edit]Alright, nice, I'll give it a final review.
- It is reasonably well written.
- a (prose): b (MoS):
First, when you mention it's alternate title in the lead, there should be parenthesis around it. Second, "Awards & nominations" needs to be "Awards and nominations" per here. Third, "[...]on location in a real-life Baltimore Metropolitan Transit Authority stations" (in the lead) -> "[...]station."- Ok, I think I fixed them all... — Hunter Kahn (c) 18:04, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
