Howdy! I would usually just WP:JETFA, but I don't have the background to rewrite this article. It appears to be a copy/paste from somewhere, but I haven't found where yet. Assuming the copyright on the original text is ok, or that this is original, then this needs a severe re-write so that people coming in here can understand what they're looking at without being specialists. How to remove "cleanup" title?

[edit]

Hello, I just expanded and edited the subtelomere entry (along with providing my own graphics!). How do I remove the "cleanup necessary" and "better introduction necessary" business from the top of the page? I would like the Wiki crew to know that the article is adequately explained now. It is certainly well beyond the "JETFA" stage now as well, I would hope...

Thanks!

Quality of 'Subtelomeres'

[edit]

Dear all, I'm struggling with this article quite a lot, I think that there is some fundamental biological misunderstanding in the writing. I'd love it if people can weigh in and let me know if I am infact the one that's misunderstanding some aspects of telomeric biology. I'm not quite sure that I've heard of subtelomeres being transposable elements in their entirety or that the defintion of subtelomeres is comprehensive enough.

I think I'm going to add this to my TODO file and maybe flesh it out a bit as I'm currently looking at subtelomeres. Happy to hear opinions on this before I start to work.

I think so. The definition of subtelomeres is not declared and features of subtelomeres are varied among eukaryotes, so it should be separated common and species-specific explanations. Yusuke.Oizumi (talk) 10:29, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello there!
This article is also on my to-do list - I've picked it for a WikiEdu project & plan to start working on it soon. I'll see if I can find anything more about whether or not subtelomeres can be transposable elements. SmolKraken (talk) 00:22, 12 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
