- No. Boats which were involved in the missile strikes against Afghanistan in 2001 requested the badge, but were denied. The idea seemed to be that awarding the pin to submariners who sat in comfort at computers, drinking coffee, would cheapen the awards given to sailors who endured daily life -- not to mention depth charge attacks -- on WWII diesel boats. 104.153.40.58 (talk) 19:43, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
