Expansion Needed
[edit]This article should be expanded from its focus on Arizona's "Stupid Motorist" law to include information on similar laws in other jurisdictions. --TommyBoy (talk) 03:15, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
I have reverted User:Gurch's removal of the tag, because I still believe that the article needs to be expanded from its focus on Arizona's "Stupid Motorist Law" in the manner noted in my previous comments. --TommyBoy (talk) 22:33, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
- I tend to agree. Many places have similar laws that could be pointed out. It would be an improvement if there were enough to eventually have this particular Article be expanded to the point that it becomes the Dab page pointing to all of them. Exit2DOS2000•T•C• 01:26, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
- I disagree. The term "Stupid Motorist Law" refers only to the Arizona version of the law, not this kind of law in general. If you Google "Stupid Motorist Law", you'll see that every single reference is to the law in Arizona. There are no other similar laws ever referred to in this way. Because of this, there's nothing to disambiguate and therefore there is no "world view" issue, as there is one and only one law known as the "Stupid Motorist Law" and it is the one described here. -- ShinmaWa(talk) 21:12, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
Title
[edit]The Citation listed does not use the term "Stupid Motorist Law". Is there an available Citation that links the Term to the Statute? I would also suggest Moving this page to Arizona Revised Statutes (section 28-910) with Stupid Motorist Law as a redirect untill such time as it is turned into a Disambiguation page. Exit2DOS2000•T•C• 03:08, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
- Disagree. By Wikipedia convention (WP:COMMONNAME), things are referred to by their most common name. The name that most people refer to this law is "Stupid Motorist Law", not "ARS 28-910". -- ShinmaWa(talk) 21:15, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
- However, given that it's a common name and not an official name, it shouldn't be capitalized. And it would benefit from a hyphen, "stupid-motorist law". Ccrrccrr (talk) 00:48, 15 September 2018 (UTC)
I went ahead with this after reading the Wikipedia style guide on capitalization to confirm. Ccrrccrr (talk) 10:42, 15 September 2018 (UTC)
No longer orphaned
[edit]I've removed the orphan tag from 2009 as there are now two genuine links in. JRYon (talk) 17:24, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
