Someone keeps defacing this article with near libellous comments. I have reversed the adjustments. It is on my watchlist, so any changes like that will just be wiped. Please note - anonymous editor!

To Anthony Bellows: you seem unable to allow any comments detrimental to SS.
Why do we hear nothing of his involvement in the divorce of Simon Crowcroft and his susequent trial for attempted rape? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.20.184.207 (talk) 23:49, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Unconventional manner?
[edit]I think that it is ambiguous to state: The Senator handled child abuse cases in an "unconventional manner". A reader might think that he was protecting child abusers. Syvret's statements about the proceedings suggest that he was sacked while being over-eager in revealing alleged child abuse cases. (http://stuartsyvret.blogspot.com/)
Which is true, I don't know.

- These sorts of things are always awful for everyone involved (Haut de la Garenne), but none more so than those who have suffered alleged abuse at the hands of depraved people who were put in a position of responsibility for them. The US has recently come to terms with similar situations within the Catholic Church. The truth shall set you free and bless people like Mr. Syvret for coming forward, and even potentially losing his job, for doing the right thing. I will still go back to visit Jersey regardless and have nothing but good things to say about it.** —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.168.24.203 (talk) 17:32, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
"Subsequently, Frank Walker the Chief Minister, accused him of damaging Jersey's reputation by speaking to the media" I am new to editing Wikipedia-hope this is on the right page. I find the comment about Frank Walker potentially misleading-he did not say that by talking to the media Stuart Syvret was damaging the island's reputation, his words were 'you are trying to shaft Jersey internationally". There was no mention of the media-the onversation they had in the BBC studio was on a broader basis and was related to both men's alleged agenda overall. I find the current wording suggests support for an alleged intended cover up-I heard the news item at the time as well as the Paxman interview and the subsequent finding that the Paxman interview should be formally criticised; it would be more accurate to say that Frank Walker accused Stuart Syvret of having other motives than child protection in making his comments to the media. (Readers can then make up their own minds). I am reluctant to make any changes-the article is not mine. ThanksGinger321 (talk) 09:31, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
Fair Trial
[edit]The section regarding the ability of Senator Syvret to obtain a fair trial appears to breach Wikipedia standards of neutral point of view. It sounds like the author is stating that a fair trial is impossible which is a matter of opinion, not fact and therefore is not neutral. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.112.158.250 (talk) 18:51, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
- The section needs references, but it's fairly clear (but perhaps not clear enough) that it is Stuart Syvret who claims that a fair trial is impossible. However, the ongoing legal process is rather convoluted and it's unlikely that any approaching satisfactory coverage is possible until some sort of conclusion is reached - but it could all be worded much, much better.
