PROD
[edit]I have removed the prod. I started this article less than a month ago, and with the subject's notability it should not be too challenging to find substantive sources. Yworo, with the way you've been stalking this article I might suggest that your proposed deletion is in direct response to the other contributing editor. Might I suggest that an overzealous anonymous IP doth not make for a weak article subject? It makes for a potentially useful editor someday. Let's let the newbies learn through teaching them, rather then punishing their mistakes, and allow the process to take care of the topic. • Freechildtalk 20:57, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
- If you started the article, it is your responsibility to establish notability right at the outset. Please provide sources which establish such or I'll take it to AfD next. I don't see any notability to this subject, myself. Yworo (talk) 21:22, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
- P.S. I'm not "stalking" the article, I simply have it on my watchlist. "Stalking" smacks of a personal attack. My reasons for prodding the article were clearly stated. Your speculations are just that, speculations. They say more about you than about me, since they are wrong. Clearly, you aren't psychic and I must ask you to observe our no personal attacks policy more strictly: discuss the content, not the other editors with worthless speculations about their motivations. Notability
[edit]Notability does not appear to have been established. A biographical article needs biographical data. Have any book-length biographies been written about the subject? Have multiple short biographies been written (other than the one at stuartgrayson.com which is not independent and thus doesn't help establish notability)? Every minister in New York City gets mentioned in the newspaper listings for services, does that make every minister in NYC notable? No, local listings and trivial coverage don't make someone notable (see WP:BASIC). Google books doesn't seem to have any book which contains any in-depth coverage of this subject, listing mostly books by the subject rather than about the subject. Have I missed something? I don't think so... Yworo (talk) 21:45, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
Notability Question
[edit]I do think that Grayson meets appropriate notability standards. He was a fairly prominent figure in the positive-thinking ministry and in 1997 Booklist called him a "popular seminar leader and minister" (http://www.accessmylibrary.com/archive/416950-booklist/august-1997-page4.html). Grayson's collection of essays remains in print with an independent press (http://www.amazon.com/Collected-Essays-Grayson-Mentors-Thought/dp/0875166792/ref=ntt_at_ep_dpt_1) and during his lifetime he was published by mainstream presses (e.g., http://www.amazon.com/Spiritual-Healing-Stuart-Grayson/dp/0684823659/ref=ntt_at_ep_dpt_2). I am not a member of his former congregation or affiliated with his church. --Mitch Horowitz (www.mitchhorowitz.com) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.3.61.131 (talk) 16:19, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
