[edit]Pure (undoped) strontium aluminate should be colorless. --FK1954 (talk) 05:23, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
This bit is unclear...
[edit]"Strontium aluminate phosphor is fired at about 1250 °C. Subjecting it to temperatures above 1090 °C is likely to cause loss of its phosphorescent properties."
The temperature lower than firing temperature is a bit confusing. Does this refer to post-manufacture heating? If so, perhaps it can be reworded to indicate this, such as:
"Strontium aluminate phosphor is fired at about 1250 °C. Subjecting it to temperatures above 1090 °C after manufacture is likely to cause loss of its phosphorescent properties."

i had a different view of that part
[edit]I did not find the temperature sequence confusing, it seemed post manufacture was pretty clearly implicit. However I would greatly like to see some explanation about why phosphorescent properties are lost. Does the material undergo a change in composition, a phase change, crystalline structure metamorphosis or what?

Large section of copied text
[edit]A large portion of this article has been taken word-for-word from one of its sources, page 555 of the Encyclopedia of alkaline earth compounds. I have contacted the original writer of that text and asked him to put in some quotation marks and/ or paraphrase the text rather than leave it here as a simple copy. We write Wikipedia articles, we should not copy & paste them, and most of this is the latter. KDS4444Talk 18:17, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
- Turns out that the book copied the Wikipedia article, word-for-word, and without giving proper credit. My bad, and somebody autta file a lawsuit somewhere, it seems. KDS4444Talk 16:05, 14 June 2015 (UTC)

Adding in more commercial examples, safety info, interesting applications, and structure to the main section - suggestion to add an 'ongoing research' section
[edit]Hi All,
I am a new editor and added some headings, commercial examples, environmental benefits and safety etc. to this page, and then realized I should have made the changes 'pending' rather than published, as I have a conflict of interest. I have worked for the company that made the glowing pathways, and developed the glowing bracelet myself! I love this stuff haha. If someone can review the changes, please let me know what is allowable and would be considered still useful information, also if there are better references that would make the edits stronger and fit within the wiki guidelines. Thanks so much!
Also, I was thinking of spending some time editing the properties and function section because there is a lot more recent information about this compound available, ie. an 'ongoing research' section would be awesome, as well as more commercial examples. I can add these as suggestions instead next time.
Request to add -pH of Cerium-doped Strontium Aluminate and its Solubility in water.
[edit]I have experimentally shown that the pH of Cerium - doped Strontium aluminate is between 10 and 12.Can we add this to the list of Strontium Aluminate's properties?I think it would be useful to some chemists. Also , I have done an experiment to show that Cerium - doped Strontium aluminate is nearly insoluble in Water at 273 K up to 373 k.I believe that this to can be added to the properties of Strontium aluminate.I do not have the photos as of now, but I will list them here as soon as possible.
