String Sign Queequeg804 04:07, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
Importance of article
[edit]Is there any reason that this needs its own article? I don't know much about pediatrics (or medicine in general), but if X-rays are no longer the common way of diagnosing infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis, it would make more sense to me to just expand the diagnosis section of HPS and turn this page into a redirect. I certainly don't have a strong opinion, but it's a suggestion. Enuja 06:03, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
I agree - it could just be part of the pyloric stenosis article. I was looking under the section "articles to be written" and 'string sign' was listed so I thought they wanted a separate article. Can you redirect it? Thanks. Queequeg804 20:14, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
Also, even though most people use the ultrasound to diagnose pyloric stenosis, upper GI's are done very frequently and this radiologic sign is still in use and is applicable. It's not antequated.

- If someone else thought it was needed, and you think it's needed, that's enough for me! Enuja 20:49, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
The string sign is also present in Crohn's Disease, though. At the very least, there should be a picture of a radiograph showing an example of "string sign." 69.127.56.49 (talk) 05:09, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
