Was it really performed in the same concert?

[edit]

According to http://villalobos.iu.edu/sq07 , it wasn't premiered until 1945, by the dedicatees, May 30 1945. (Yes, I know it says Seizieme- "16th"- quartet on that page- but also maybe the concert program for the 6th quartet turned out to be mistaken in including the 7th ? Could further investigation be needful here?... Schissel | Sound the Note! 12:32, 1 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know how I managed to leave out the source citation, but that premiere date is the one given on p. 104 of the online edition of Villa-Lobos, sua obra (2009). However, I now notice that the entire performance history there exactly duplicates the performance history in the preceding entry for the Sixth Quartet. This looks suspiciously like a block-copy error, and I was a little puzzled by the dedication in the score. I shall check the generally more trustworthy 1972 second edition of Villa-Lobos, sua obra. Thanks for catching this.—Jerome Kohl (talk) 22:59, 1 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I have confirmed my suspicions. The Indiana University database evidently is based on the 1972 edition. The information has been corrected, and a proper inline citation provided. Thanks again for calling attention to this error.—Jerome Kohl (talk) 01:04, 2 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
