Part or episode
[edit]There is some confusion over this. The BBC website and Radio Times list each story as a series with parts. I think we will have to wait for the dvd to see how it is listed ie. The first three series or first seven episodes. I wonder if in some countries they are being shown as tv film.REVUpminster (talk) 05:43, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
- When I looked up the first book's dramatization on the BBC, it showed the episodes as Episode 1 - 3. Confusing. ----Dr.Margi ✉ 07:07, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
- The voiceover at the end of the silkworm stated the series would return next year (2018) therefore we should follow the BBC website and treat each story as a series.REVUpminster (talk) 21:12, 17 September 2017 (UTC)
- Freeview listed "Career of Evil (Episode 1)" as being "(1/2)" suggesting it's the first episode of the series --Mortice (talk) 08:23, 26 February 2018 (UTC)

missing season IMDB
[edit]Silkworm seems to be missing in the IMDB database being the second instalment in the series. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.189.78.248 (talk) 16:57, 4 January 2018 (UTC)
Name change
[edit]In the book, the surname of John and Yvette is Bristow. This article has their name as Bristol. I've not changed it because it is always possible that they will have a different name in the TV series, but if anyone knows better go ahead. Kaid100 (talk) 21:23, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
- In Career of Evil, one of the suspect's names has been changed, from Noel Brockbank to Niall Brockbank. Could this be the result of a real person called Noel Brockbank objecting ? RGCorris (talk) 08:51, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
Cast & Characters
[edit]Would this be better re-titled as Recurring Cast & Characters and to only include those appearing in all three stories ?
Currently it lists : Ben Crompton as Shanker (who only appears in Career of Evil) Natasha O'Keeffe as Charlotte Campbell (Ross) (who doesn't appear in Career of Evil) Siân Phillips as Lady Yvette Bristow (who only appears in Cuckoo's Calling) while ignoring the likes of Martin Shaw, Lia Williams and Tara Fitzgerald. RGCorris (talk) 15:51, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
- Sian Phillips is a very notable British actor, one of our national treasures, and worth listing. Moreover, bearing in mind her age, performing her two cameos in Cuckoo's Calling is quite an achievement, and I don't know (do you?) whether it is to be her last recorded performance. I would suggest that if a series includes notable actors then it is reasonable to mention them in an encyclopaedic article about that series. Storye book (talk) 11:17, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
- Then perhaps two sections are required - one for recurring cast and one for those only appearing in a single story ? RGCorris (talk) 12:24, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
- Two sections - that should work. Perhaps the second section should contain only notable actors (i.e. those with WP articles), since the page contains a link to IMDb to cover the remaining actors. Storye book (talk) 10:32, 2 March 2018 (UTC)
