Many examples

[edit]

There are many examples of both Republicans and Democrats who have used "Straw Donors". By using only Democratic examples, we create an NNPOV. If an editor wants to clean up, maybe add the example of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dinesh_D%27Souza . I'd do it myself but I haven't learned how to do that without the bots coming around to change everything back yet. 2601:244:8301:98C5:2059:2F89:BCB0:4BC2 (talk) 23:54, 22 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed 100%. It is not only Democrats who have used straw donors; off the top off my head this is exactly what Dinesh D'Souza was convicted of a couple of years ago (sorry I missed that you mentioned it) and that's obviously just one example. Seems like a classic example of NNPOV. In addition, I question whether Daily Mail, which is essentially a tabloid, is a fully reliable source. I also do not have the power to make the necessary changes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.2.230.238 (talk) 22:57, 1 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Although I'm a Republican, I agree the Dinesh D'Souza case should be added to maintain neutrality. He freely admits he did it, only claiming his punishment was excessive and the fact they went after him in the first place was at Obama's direction because of his book on Obama. btw. those last parts can be left out as this is an article on "Straw Donations" and all we want are examples. As of 2020, Louis DeJoy can be added to the list of notable persons who have used this scheme. link 173.88.246.138 (talk) 07:15, 7 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
