When did it happen?
[edit]"The game ran from January to May 1905". Surely this refers to the period simulated, not how long they spent playing it. Wully Robertson's biog (almost entirely written by me) says that it took place in the spring. The First Moroccan Crisis kicked off with the Kaiser's visit to Tangier in March 1905.Paulturtle (talk) 07:19, 4 February 2022 (UTC)
The answer, somewhat to my surprise, is that it took place "in real time" between January and May 1905. See pp. 84-6 of Simon Batten "Futile Exercises". This planning, and the potential reaching-out to France, pre-dated the Kaiser's visit to Tangier.Paulturtle (talk) 00:36, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
