British Rail Class 153

[edit]

I wonder if it's wise to put the whole link of "British Rail Class 153" and so on since this could cause confusion about the existance of British Rail?

How about just putting the classes. I've carried through this edit... Comments back are appreciated, of course.

Why not, probably best --Greenfinch100 15:31, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Round Oak Steel Works

[edit]

The comments about Round Oak Steel Works are a bit out of date. It closed years ago. 7severn7 (talk) 21:37, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Parry Peoplemover

I've added one of three pictures I got of the PPM under trail at the station. RichardRothwell (talk) 08:41, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Content removal

[edit]

A lot of superfluous and duplicate content was added since I last spent some time on this page (7 years ago! As above)... I've tidied it up and made everything a bit neater. Do get in touch if there's a problem. Suggest that we may need a gallery as the thumbnails are constricting the page a bit. Will look into it. Cheers. Further to the above I'd just like to point out the superfluous information included the crew depot (does that matter?) and the signalling method for the Town branch (this is in the branch's article - it shouldn't be recreated here). Based on the level of information I'm going to reassign this from Start class to Class C in the WikiTrains header - it's really not that bad now. Worley-d (talk) 16:18, 23 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Image removal

[edit]

Some reference to removing pictures either in the revision history or here would be appreciated - what is the rationale? Worley-d (talk) 12:05, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Do you know when they were removed? If not, do you know when they were added, or what their filenames were? --Redrose64 (talk) 16:04, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
They've existed for a very long time on the page. Please refer to my most recent minor edit; you'll see certain images are present that aren't in the current revision. Worley-d (talk) 19:49, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The page did have a lot of images for not much text. -mattbuck (Talk) 21:21, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Your most recent minor edit is this one; other than a small change to a caption, it has nothing to do with missing images. --Redrose64 (talk) 22:13, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
What Worley means is that images were there in his edit, but aren't now. -mattbuck (Talk) 22:17, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Between then and now, the only edit which removed images is this one, where two were removed. You'd need to check with Mark999 on that. --Redrose64 (talk) 23:21, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
RedRose that is the edit to which I am referring. There are other station articles on Wiki with far less text for as many - if not more - images. As I said above I believe these should be pooled into a gallery - I don't know how gallery code works though Worley-d (talk) 14:39, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Pages overloaded with images probably fail WP:NOTGALLERY. See WP:IG for information on when a gallery may be appropriate - most of the time it isn't. The preferred method these days is {{commonscat}}, which this article already has - it's the box top right of Stourbridge Junction railway station#External links. --Redrose64 (talk) 15:21, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well, in that case, I shall pipe down. Been a while since I updated Wiki regularly. Ta for the info. Worley-d (talk) 16:50, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Stourbridge Junction Cat

[edit]

There is a cat that is named "george" that "works" at the station, will this be included in the page or is it to unserious for this page. 2A01:CB00:E96:5000:58F6:F782:FADD:F048 (talk) 05:14, 27 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If there is a secondary source about this (e.g. a local paper that covers it) then we could include it in a "Cultural references" section. Mattdaviesfsic (talk) 06:33, 27 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Mattdaviesfsic Turns out daily mail has a paper from 2021,but since it is daily mail... uhh let's just say we are gonna have to find a better source.
There is a Facebook and twitter page however. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-9760641/amp/CAT-appointed-chief-mouse-catcher-local-train-station.html JebKermun (talk) 05:18, 28 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
