Notability

[edit]

Not only does this not explain the notability but it isn't clear what this is. This was also a redirect to The Storm Riders and it is probably unwise to remove that given that this would be the main entry people would be looking for. (Emperor 00:39, 4 July 2007 (UTC))[reply]

I reverted back to the redirect diff. From what I could gather, it was just some home-made surf movie. --Closedmouth 15:15, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Not only did I see the movie, I had the soundtrack album (EMI) which included the top recording artists in Australia at that time. It was not a home movie as you mentioned and is still being sold today on DVD.

push for deletion?

[edit]

It seems the only reason for a push by some to delete this article is because of the Hong Kong movie of similar name. I'm not a surf nut myself, but this film seems to be among the top of most "best of" lists when it comes to this type of film and had many of the best surfers of the day included in it. I'd bet if the film had a different name there would not be a push for deletion. If this surf film does not have the credentials for notability then I guess no surf film would.

BTW, I went through many of the "Surf Films" articles and some of them have far less credentials then this one yet I don't see the rush to remove them? --Mrhyak (talk) 04:20, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see it as a push for deletion (yet) but a year after the discussion in the section above the notability issue still hasn't been properly addressed so it isn't unreasonable to tag it (in fact it may be long overdue). Also I'm afraid other stuff exists isn't an argument that this should be be here (it might suggest if they are failing worse than this that they should put up for AfD).
