Ending
[edit]Not really encyclopedic but oh well... I really liked the book, awesome story, nice twists and most of all realistic and dark. But I felt the ending was really bad. Like an enormous twist in the end, that was supposed to be the big finale but in the end is just cheap and boring. In this dark world of Link's all the sudden that angel of reporter shows up and saves him, where is the realism in that? And Shelter is not dumb or "just a criminal" like its described in the book. I actually believe he is a very interesting character and the final meeting of link and shelter could have been a phenomenal ending but instead appears like a cheap action movie. Anyone else got this impression?
- a like-minded thought...
- I have to agree about the ending of the book-I really do think this book could and should have gone out with a bang but instead was abrubt,a little boring and very depressing in my opinion but the rest of the book was great and although it was dark I think it was a real joy-ride of a read and a good insight into the minds of homeless people and the people who look down on them.
