[edit]

Fastifex and I have now gone two rounds on this article.

Up for discussion is this wording:

* by analogy, objects with a similarly painful or otherwise efficient 'sting', such as a particularly hard blow, or a device that can easily cause such pain; e.g.
* the spike strip, a device used in police pursuits to flatten vehicle tires.
* in BDSM, a spanking implement consisting of beaded wands, cemented into a cap and finished with a ring for hanging ([[1]] sold as a 'spanking toy' - illustrated)

vs. this wording:

* The spike strip, a device used in police pursuits to flatten vehicle tires.
* A spanking implement consisting of beaded wands.

Do other contributors have a preference for one or the other?

The shorter one. The other has unnecessary detail and is inappropriate here. JuniorJetKaptain 16:29, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Shorter version. A certain user's edits have a pattern of inserting salivating detail into spanking-related articles, which IMV is unencyclopedic... The Land 18:28, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
