Disambiguation
[edit]This page needs to be disambiguated between the horse and the vehicle. Any objections? Gaep13(talk) 22:24, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
The best fun
[edit]It's said that lill' Haffy is the best fun with pants on !!!!
It's true. I've owned one (serie I) since 1962, taken with me in all USN tours from France to Tunisia and back home to finally go on retirement in Quebec, just North of Vermont, close to the lines, as a farm workhorse and a "funwagen".

Horse vs. Jeep
[edit]I think Haflinger should belong to the horses, and "Haflinger (jeep)" should be for the vehicle, since the latter was named for the first...anyone agree?

Well, first of all a haflinger is not a Jeep... Haflinger (truck) would be more appropriate. Metadynamics 00:14, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
Haflinger (truck) works. I agree that the horse should have the stand-alone title, they came first and the truck is named after the horse. 66.63.86.156 (talk) 21:35, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
- I have made a proposal to move Haflinger (horse) to Haflinger as primary topic, and hope this will not upset lovers of the vehicle. Comments can be made at Talk:Haflinger (horse)#Requested move. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 12:05, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
Engine Design
[edit]I've removed text indicating that the Haflinger's engine was a Fiat design. There's some substantiation to be found in this article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puch_500 . The cross-section of the engine shown here http://de.geocities.com/haflingerpage/motor.jpg displays attributes consistent with SDP (and Tatra) design philosophies rather than those of Fiat.

Information
[edit]All the info at the bottom? Is it a trivia type of thing? Not sure it should go down there below the ext links and see also. Coralshin (talk) 07:18, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
Portuguese evaluation
[edit]The Portuguese Marines tested/evaluated one Haflinger Series 1 model B around 1962 but it wasn't selected mainly due to its cargo space that was considered small and not being a improvement over other vehicles already in service.[1] I'm not sure if this is actually worthy of being in the article, especially when there isn't a dedicated operators section, but I'll leave this reference here for your consideration and in case anyone else in the future decides to expand the article.
