PROTECT
[edit]This article needs to be protected! Deadspin.com just posted a blog encouraging people to vandalize this article! Faethon Ghost (talk) 20:05, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
- Not entirely accurate that they were encouraging people to vandalize the article. Rather, they were reporting on the article already being vandalized. Thekithless (talk) 07:23, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
No wonder the article is semi-protected. I was mystified that so many people are vandalizing this article, which doesn't seem like it's very popular article. I guess there were lots of Tom Watson fans who were outraged that Stewart Cink beat him, so they decided to vandalize Stewart Cink's article.[1]Pinkgirl34 00:46, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
It was the 138th Open, not the 183rdRams87 (talk) 03:03, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
Stop making the introduction look like amateur hour.
[edit]There is no excuse for this. You have a four paragraph introduction, one of the paragraphs is totally dedicated to the fact he beat Tom Watson in a four-hole playoff. You therefore do not need to mention this in the opening line. Make a choice, either keep it in the first line and delete the paragraph or keep it out of the opening and just leave the paragraph. You can't have both, it looks absolutely ridiculous and like you haven't bothered to check it correctly. It's absolutely exasperating having to keep correcting this all the time. Use some sodding logic and stop assuming everyone who edits without a username is a vandal. Braindead, absolutely braindead.
- You clearly did not read the whole lead section. I have now removed the duplication again, this time from the end of the second paragraph. wjematherbigissue 15:20, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
Cheers, I can't believe I missed that. To have the same information three times in the space of four paragraphs was utterly inexcusable.
