Request to edit - removal of personal details
[edit]EdwardX - Mr Mogford wishes to remove the information relating to him living in Chorley in Lancashire, given his entry relates to his career, this information is irrelevant and a threat to his personal safety and that of his family. Please do not revert the edit. thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.59.201.217 (talk) 13:41, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
- According to the Wikipedia page for Chorley, it is a town of some 31,556 people (in 2001). His living there is widely documented in Wikipedia:Reliable sources. In addition to the source cited in the article, there is Chorley man is new United Utilities chief in the Lancashire Telegraph (which I will now add to the article). If Steve Mogford or his representatives are genuinely concerned that Wikipedia repeating this information somehow constitutes "a threat to his personal safety and that of his family", then they should consider contacting the Wikimedia Foundation (details here: Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons) or the police. Reading the Wikipedia article on the Streisand effect might also prove interesting. Edwardx (talk) 18:42, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
