Please note: This article conflates the person with the company that bears his name. actual hometown

Contrary to the Daily News Article used as the lone reference, I'm pretty certain Steve Madden came from neighboring Cedarhurst, not Lawrence. I know that his first shop was there, though it no longer exists I don't think (closed down a few years ago). And this article needs expansion too.
