[edit]Because I have not edited Wikipedia before, and I also know the subject of this entry, I am looking for assistance.
I believe the current profile does not adhere to Wikipedia's commitment to protect people accused *but not convicted* of a crime. I propose the following changes:
1. Remove the heading "Harassment allegations"
2. Replace the whole section with the following summary:
Shortly after retiring from the University of Manitoba in June 2017, media began publicizing allegations of sexual harassment of students,[2]<> claims Kirby continues to deny. In the summer of 2017, Kirby was hired by the Berklee College of Music, but was suspended due to the University of Manitoba investigation. [5]<>[6]<> In May 2018, Kirby was charged with sexual assault, but that charge was dropped in March 2019.[9]<> He is presumed by Canadian law to be innocent. In 2020, an independent arbitrator awarded Kirby a significant sum from the University of Manitoba as well as an offer of reinstatement; he declined to return to his position. The public document outlining the arbitrator's decision can be found online.[11]<> Both Kirby and the University are bound to confidentiality moving forward.[12]<>
3. Remove the following citations: #3, #4, #7, #8, #10 GeraldLovesJazz (talk) 03:48, 28 April 2023 (UTC)
