[edit]"plays like a real pest", vent out his anger, etc. is why I put the tag up Mad Jack O'Lantern 20:54, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
- I agree. I just removed a few sentences that I felt didn't add anything other than a specific POV. Better? -- JamesTeterenko 21:38, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
- With no additional comments after my edit, I will remove the tag. -- JamesTeterenko 16:19, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
I think there's still some POV stuff there, as well as a grammatical error: "Steve Downie has considered the most inspirational player in the entire Ontario Hockey League. He rarely discusses the hardships that he has endured in his life, even though they continue to be the driving force in his will to be a successful hockey player." I think "has been called" or "can be considered to be one of the most" *might* be more appropriate, but some citations would be nice, unless you just want to reword it. Ditto the driving force thing: how do we know that? Downie apparently doesn't talk about it, so how do we know what motivates him? Kraigus 15:31, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well that was not there when I removed the POV tag, it is a relatively recent addition. I just removed the entire paragraph, as I don't believe it added anything encylopedic. -- JamesTeterenko 16:39, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, ok, sounds good. Kraigus 00:06, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Jack Johnson incident
[edit]Is there anyone who can add more information about the incident with Jack Johnson at the WJC? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.101.6.247 (talk) 18:11, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
2006 TC
[edit]Briememory, that's a good quotation - but a citation might be nice, if you can provide one. It's not that I don't believe he said that (it's a remarkable example of hockeyplayer speak, so Downie has at least that mastered at the NHL level) but it would be nice to know who reported him saying that too. Kraigus 14:02, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
- No problem. The press release is listed as a reference. Please say if this is not specific enough. Briememory 21:20, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
- Nope, that's cool, thanks. Kraigus 23:05, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
He's on Kitchener now. UPDATE!!! We all miss him in PTBO! RescueHero
Trivia section
[edit]I don't want to be one of those Trivia-nazis who are running around deleting everything right now, but I think this trivia section might not be appropriate. If the guy's dad died when he was 7, you can mention it in his biography rather than in a trivia section that makes it sound like it's supposed to be an amusing "factoid" or something.--Howdybob 19:31, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
