Birthplace

[edit]

On Stephen's birthplace: On the News Radio DVD commentary ( Season 1 Episode 5 12:19-12:50 ), Stephen Root says he was not born in Florida. Interviewer ( Possibly Paul Sims ): "Stephen you were originally from Florida?" Root: "Ah, No, I ended up going to the University of Floridia, but I was a midwest Kid" Interviewer: "Really!" Root: "Yeah, yeah, I.." Interviewer: "because you have sort of a southern accent" Dave Foley: "Where is Jimmy from?" Root: "Well, I was there in my formative years. OK but no I was a midwest kid... Iowa and Indiana and Missouri and ended up in Florida"

Also, on a set interview for Jersey Girl Stephen root says: [1] ( when asked "Are you originally from L.A.?" )

"Oh god No. I'm actually a Midwest kid. My dad was in construction, so we moved around every couple of years. I've lived in Muncie, Indiana, Sioux City, Iowa, Kansas City MO, Glen Rock, Wyoming; all over the Midwest. My Dad moved down to Florida when I was in senior high. It was cheap to go to college in Florida, so I became a Gator for four years. That's where I started doing theater."

So him being born in Sarasota seems to be incorrect. IMDB has this wrong as well. I'm guessing that's where the original source was. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.14.108.63 (talk) 04:49, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He was born in Florida but grew up in New Orleans and the Midwest, moving around because of his dad's work as the quote says above. He tells the story on Kevin Pollak's Chat Show, also. 12.130.117.50 (talk) 21:53, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Appearance in Command & Conquer

[edit]

I can't find a reference, but I'm certain that Stephen appeared in the FMV cutscenes of at least one C&C game. In fact, I believe that he played different characters in a couple of different games in the series. I hope that someone out there has a reference for this.
