Unfortunately for Lang, his mother's maiden name is not Irish, but Dutch. It is common to self-identify in this way, you know minorities (Irish catholic, Italian, Jewish), the downtrodden, the oppressed, the victim, but that doesn't make it true. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.207.202.231 (talk) 04:22, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

German descent

[edit]

Theresa (née Volmer) and Eugene Lang, Stephen Lang's parents, are both of German descent. Volmer ist a very common German surname, Lang (meaning long, either as measure or distance; Fritz Lang) even more so. The ancestors of his father come from a part of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation which now, due to world wars, belongs to Hungary, that still doesn't make Eugene Lang (about as German a name as can be) a Hungarian. 77.23.228.252 (talk) 18:59, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Beyond Glory

[edit]

I saw his show Beyond Glory in Korea some years ago. Really great performance and great show. Lang stayed aftewards and spoke to us at some length; very personable end, and much appreciated by us Soldiers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.76.166.83 (talk) 00:55, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Family

[edit]

I stumbled across the fact that Lang has more than just the one child (Noah). His daughter, Lucy Lang is a former prosecutor in the Manhattan DA's office and the current director of the Institute for Innovation in Prosecution at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. I'd have added it, but its a Youtube video from Wired ("Lawyer Breaks Down 17 Courtroom Scenes From Film & TV | WIRED") wherein Ms. Lang evaluates various courtroom scenes in media; she points out one scene where her father appears (Crime Story) and identifies herself as his daughter (at the 8:10 minute mark). Thoughts about how to present this additional biographical info would be helpful. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 06:46, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
