Misinformation

I was born 27 June 1952 (not 1949). It is an exaggeration to identify me as a musician: I play guitar (rarely) as a very minor hobby, certainly not as a "preoccupation." Just for the fun of it, I accepted David Tibet's invitation to play guitar on stage a few times with his band Current 93. (I got to know David Tibet because he pursues the study of the Coptic language as a serious hobby, sought my advice on some Coptic grammatical matters, joined the International Association for Coptic Studies, and then earned an M.A. in Coptology from Macquarie University in Australia.) A part of one of those performances was recorded and released as a CD and as a vinyl record album ("Birth Canal Blues"), on which I myself cannot hear a single note that I played (I was the least important of three guitarists). I have no involvement whatsoever in "the artistic and religious movement of Aleister Crowley's Thelema," nor in the Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.), and I am certainly not "one of today's most important promoters of the Neo-Gnostic artistic and religious concept" (whatever that might mean). I am a humanistic scholar, not a promoter of any sort of artistic or religious concept. Also, David Tibet's music and lyrics do not "propagate . . . Crowley's Neo-Gnostic religion" (David Tibet is Catholic, in fact), nor are Current 93's performances "a kind of O.T.O's missions for the Thelema." More misinformation

Also, I am not one of the editors of the Codex Tchacos (which includes the Gospel of Judas). Undeletion

User "Isabell Becker" appears to have personal issues with the subject of this article, and attempted to have it deleted. However this deletion has now been reversed, since after the work I have done on it it is now fairly reasonable and useful entry, although still somewhat basic. The article continues to need work, and I encourage editors to do so in good faith. I suggest that user "Isabell Becker" familiarise herself thoroughly with Wikipedia policies before attempting any more edits.--Rodneyorpheus (talk) 08:05, 6 August 2011 (UTC)

Neutrality

Since I have removed the most glaring inaccuracies and contentious material, I think we can now remove the "neutrality disputed" tag on the article. I will do so now. Revision on 2011-09-02

I have been informed by a Wikipedia editor (Rodney Orpheus) that Wikipedia generally frowns upon self-editing in the way that I have done today by thoroughly revising the recently posted article about me. I have tried to adhere to Wikipedia's standards, and I have also tried to retain the basic structure and information of the original article (as subsequently edited by Mr. Orpheus and others) so far as possible. At the same time, I have limited myself to providing information that I think users of Wikipedia will find most informative and interesting. I have undertaken this revision in the conviction that no one else was likely to do so anytime soon, and believing also that I am the most reliable source of information about myself, at least for the time being. If anyone feels differently about the matter (except for the original author, whose neutrality and bona fides are in doubt), "feel free" - as Mr. Orpheus wrote to me, with the caveat mentioned above - "to edit away." - Stephen Emmel, 2011-09-02
