New 52 Stephanie's relationship to Batman
[edit]So, a new edit to Steph's New 52 section says she hates Batman - but that's based on 1) a very spoilery reveal for Batman Eternal, and 2) not consistent with Steph's interactions with Batman throughout the bulk of the series, either at the beginning, or at the end. I've edited it a bit to say she "distrusts" Batman, but I'm not convinced that this is necessary information. Millernumber1 (talk) 05:45, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
- I have now deleted the reference, since it's not a big part of her current or past characterization, and was instead a plot point that wasn't that significant long-term for her. Millernumber1 (talk) 18:21, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
Please add issue numbers
[edit]I really like your site. I just wish you would reference specific comic issues. I was trying to find the specific issue or issues that Spoiler is killed in, but I can't find them. Just a suggestion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.200.116.137 (talk • contribs) 19:48, 20 June 2005
Namespace
[edit]Since she has 2 costumed identities, should she be moved to Stephanie Brown? Dread Lord CyberSkull ✎☠ 23:27, 2005 July 9 (UTC)
Her time as Robin was so short that it could pretty much be written off as a publicity stunt. I say keep it under Spoiler, it's who she was introed as and who she really was. -RannXXV 10:01, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
Batman told her she had been Robin when she died -- but yes, most people seem to think of her as being Spoiler, not Robin. Ghostwise 02:54, 17 May 2007 (UTC)Ghostwise
It's a notability thing :) She was Spoiler longer, and is more recognizable as spoiler to most people. -- Ipstenu (talk|contribs) 14:11, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
The page identifies Stephanie as the third Batgirl. She's the fourth. Presumably the Huntress (Helena Bertinelli) wasn't being considered here but she should be. She was the second Batgirl, however briefly during the No Man's Land storyline. Just before Cassandra Cain took over the role. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.145.108.101 (talk) 07:45, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
Alliances
[edit]Was Stephanie ever in Young Justice? To my knowledge, she only met a few characters from Young Justice (outside of Tim), and none of them really liked her. I'll give it a day or two, then revert it back to just a former alliance to the Batman Family. -RannXXV 19:38, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
- I can't find any ref of her in Young Justice. Yanked. -- Ipstenu 20:07, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
- Spoiler was never in the group Young Justice. She appeared in the comic when Secret attacked her, thinking she was Robin's girlfriend, but that was the extent of her participation in the book. - 66.93.144.171 09:11, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
Appearances list
[edit]Does anybody have an accurate appearances list for Spoiler? I'm writing an article partially focused on her and I want to cross-check to confirm which comics I know I've read her in.

Controversy
[edit]That entire section is just garbage rife with impossible to source personal opinions. It should be entirely trashed. 75.153.231.20 19:54, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- While I wouldn't go this far - there is a controversy among fans and it's worth addressing, especially considering the demands feminists are making of superhero comics nowadays - this section is pretty messy. For instance, I don't think that feminist critics argue that including torture implements with the Black Mask action figure is evidence that Stephanie's death was to cement the hatred between Batman and his enemy, as that doesn't make a lick of sense. I think the argument is that it's in poor taste and glamorizes the torture of women in comic books. This isn't to say I agree with their position, but the article could at least represent it accurately. Universaladdress 21:00, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
- I agree, the controversy section should at no point be deleted. It just needs to be rewritten with more sources. Bookkeeperoftheoccult 06:54, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
External Links
[edit]I'd suggest http://www.writeups.org/affiche_fiche.php?id=503 as an ext. link -- there's some role-playing game numbers stuff at the start, but the quotes, pictures and biography are more complete than all the I found elsewhere so far.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.192.161.27 (talk • contribs)
- No. It looks like unsourced fan fiction. Doczilla 16:44, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
Have you actually read it? I can't see anything that's not from the comics. Her family history is what she told to Tim/Robin, as far as I can tell, though I can't remember the issue. The rest maps with her appearances in Tim's series and that mini-series with the Huntress. Did I miss something?—Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.192.161.27 (talk • contribs)
Me again - found the bloody story where Steph tells about her past -- it's Robin #111. Guess I must really like her. :-)—Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.192.161.27 (talk • contribs)
- We can't use stats from a role playing game. But where do that diary item and those quotes come from? They look like fanfic, no matter what they might be based on. The only source even hinted at for any of it is that game. Otherwise, there's no source for the rest. There are too many other useful sources out there to need this link. More importantly, I reiterate: We do not link to role playing information. Doczilla 05:08, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
- Let me paint it a different way: If you can show a citation and quote from the issues, and extract it without all the RP stuff, then we can put the information in this article. I did read the website, and it looks like a mix of stuff from the comics and the RPGs, which makes it hard to find the accurate information here. Can't use uncited sources, and the RPG doesn't count. Sorry. -- Ipstenu (talk • contribs) 13:17, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
Shouldn't this page be Stephanie Brown?
[edit]As a character with more than one costumed identity, shouldn't this be moved?--mordicai. 16:34, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
Yeah. Wikipedia is...... let's just say.... that Wikipedia isn't your typical chat room. ;-) Dance3600 (talk) 08:29, 26 March 2014 (UTC) Dance3600 (talk) 08:29, 26 March 2014 (UTC)
Gotham Underground Spoiler
[edit]Has it been confirmed that the Spoiler who appears in Gotham Underground (the one working for the Penguin who could turn invisible) was actually Stephanie? Since Penguin supplies her costume, and also supplies other people with costumes based on existing characters, this strikes me as a debatable point, unless we've got a statement in the comics to that effect. Daibhid C (talk) 18:58, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
- There's no real word either way, and it seems unlikely that this plot point will ever be resolved--seemingly, the attitude among DC writers other than Frank Tieri is to pretend GU never happened, since it's hard to resolve with any of the other books, and indeed, Fabian Nicieza, despite having made it clear from the start that he intended to make a great deal of use of Steph, was never told anything about the GU Spoiler (including the invisibility power that was never entirely explained). Personally, I'd just file it in the "Inconsistancies Never To Be Explained" department... rdfox 76 (talk) 13:12, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
