matriphagy

As mentioned in Altruism in animals this species practices matriphagy - that's pretty fascinating, can someone describe in the article? --Air (talk) 13:01, 17 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Written up in a New York times piece recently on their social characteristics, rather interesting, but I am unsure how to incorporate into the article.
