Notability needs to be established
[edit]The notability criteria that cover this subject is (of course) our general notability guideline, which assumes a subject is notable if they have "received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject". The more specific guidelines are at WP:ARTIST.
Authors, editors, journalists, filmmakers, photographers, artists, architects, and other creative professionals are presumed notable if:
- The person is regarded as an important figure or is widely cited by peers or successors.
- The person is known for originating a significant new concept, theory, or technique.
- The person has created or played a major role in co-creating a significant or well-known work or collective body of work. In addition, such work must have been the subject of an independent book or feature-length film or of multiple independent periodical articles or reviews.
- The person's work (or works) either (a) has become a significant monument, (b) has been a substantial part of a significant exhibition, (c) has won significant critical attention, or (d) is represented within the permanent collections of several notable galleries or museums.
The lede sentence basically just says that the subject was a photographer who was killed in a car accident. That doesn't seem to meet any of the criteria. What was this photographer known for? Thoughts? Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:33, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
