GOCE + GAN

[edit]

I have requested a copy edit from the Guild of Copy Editors. I have also nominated the article for Good status because I believe it meets criteria. One thing I am uncertain about is the bit about the plans for an Assyrian garden. I think the plans are worth mentioning, but the think the current state of the article leaves some ambiguity about the state of the garden. I do not think these plans came to fruition, but I cannot find a source to verify one way or the other. I do not recall seeing a garden during my recent visit to the statue, but perhaps I missed something or maybe the garden was never constructed. With this in mind, is there a way to improve the wording within the article? --Another Believer (Talk) 15:33, 12 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The GOCE copyedit has been completed. I think the short part about the garden is fine, especially if no additional information is available. It might be appropriate to add an end note (separate from the references) that additional verifiable information is not available about the status completion of the garden. - tucoxn\talk 22:57, 13 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your time and assistance. Please see the one edit I made re: your contributions to the article. --Another Believer (Talk) 22:58, 13 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Update: Actually, I made a second edit re: punctuation. --Another Believer (Talk) 16:23, 14 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia

[edit]

The entire section dealing with criticism of the statue is silly. Fernandez, the author of the cited article, did not interview even one authentic Assyrian scholar, relying instead on the views of amateur Assyrianists. What does it matter from an academic or encyclopedic perspective what a restauranteur thinks about a statue? Why not ask a cheerleader what she thinks about Middle East policy? Ask a street performer his view of current interpretations of the seals of Mohenjo-Daro? Allan Atreides (talk) 16:45, 15 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article represents what has been covered in reliable sources... --Another Believer (Talk) 16:52, 27 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Revert

[edit]

I reverted this diff (two edits), as further investigation is required. Both organizations are mentioned as having commissioned the work. I notified the editor of my revert and requested discussion on this talk page. --Another Believer (Talk) 19:26, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Resolved

... as far as I know. See here and here. I was "thanked" through Wikipedia's notification system following my edit to the article. --Another Believer (Talk) 01:00, 26 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
