Why a separate page?
[edit]I originally added all these charts to the page COVID-19 pandemic in Wisconsin. But the charts made that frequently-accessed page slow to load, so User:Ahecht split them out into Template:COVID-19 pandemic data/Wisconsin medical cases charts. I eventually moved them from there to this regular article so I can easily link to each county's charts from each county's article. -Jeff the quiet (talk) 23:00, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
Richland County adjustments
[edit]I notice that someone adjusted some recent new case counts for Richland County. She/he probably has specific info and is making corrections in good faith, but I've wiped out those adjustments with today's update. Each day I download the latest spreadsheet from the DHS and run a program that extracts the data into these graphs. Unless you get the DHS to correct their spreadsheet, manual adjustments on this page will be wiped out by my updates. And that's probably how it should be, since the DHS spreadsheet is cited as the source and the DHS is a reliable, official source. I know that there are errors in their data (e.g. negative counts of new cases on some days), but it's not my place to start correcting those, or any Wikipedia editor's. We're only presenting their data in a more readable form. -Jeff the quiet (talk) 19:49, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
