Relation to Test statistic - possible merge?
[edit]I'm not really sure how the subject of this page relates to the test statistic. It seems to me that there is a sufficiently large amount of cross-over for the content of that page to be added to this one, but I'm so far from being an expert that I'm not sure at all.Jimjamjak (talk) 16:18, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

Observability section
[edit]"The average of the heights of all members of the population is not a statistic unless that has somehow also been ascertained (such as by measuring every member of the population)." Doesn't this contradict the definition of a statistic? If you measure the height of each population member, then by definition, isn't the mean a *parameter* as opposed to a statistic (which presumably applies only to a sample)?
