Fair use rationale for Image:NDhistsoc.jpg
[edit]Image:NDhistsoc.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

development
[edit]This article, started in 2007, is really great, actually, in terms of how far it is developed relative to articles about other U.S. state historical societies, most of which don't have articles. A tag was added calling for expansion of one minor section, on support services, which I just removed because I don't think it is likely to lead to expansion anytime soon, and the negative tag would just mar the article for years to come. I actually don't see why that section should be expanded. Happy to discuss ways to improve this article, though i haven't myself contributed to it. I only noticed it recently when it was edited to link to various North Dakota historic site articles that i created. --doncram 13:31, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
- The tag applied to the section immediately below the tag, the list of state historic sites which needed expansion, not the stable short section above it. 69.95.62.55 (talk) 19:15, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
- Oh, well, if that was intended, then the tag should be in that section, after the section header and before the list. Or, better, use a more specific tag, {{Expand list}}, to specifically indicate that the list is incomplete and should be expanded. I won't add that now myself because I don't know whether the list is complete now, or not. P.S. Why not edit as a logged-in editor? --doncram 20:13, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, if you want to be pedantic about it, the tag could have gone after the header rather than before, but it was really pretty obvious that the newly-added obviously expandable list below the tag was what needed expanding. I didn't want to be rude before by pointing out it was obvious, because we all make mistakes sometimes and overlook the obvious. But we just say to ourselves, oops, my mistake, how silly, and drop it instead of blaming someone else. 69.95.62.55 (talk) 20:32, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
