When I created this, I wasn't entirely sure of the term slowcore is appropriate given that it automatically redirectors to sadcore. I couldn't come up with a better name, though. Someone please think of a better name.

I've never heard of "slowcore"Filter1987 20:34, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The cinema located between your eye and your eyelid sounds more like the colourfull patterns you see when you close your eyes. Im changing that. /Jonas

Wrong album count

[edit]

I'd like to point out that Refinement of the Decline prominently bears the number 8 on the cover (it's not an infinity sign, the right loop is smaller than the left one, it's an eight on its side), meaning they consider it their 8th album (not 7th as stated in the article), meaning they consider Maneuvering the Nocturnal Hum their 4th album (currently limited or not). 62.147.38.128 (talk) 04:38, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't be an issue so long as EP and LP are designated; you're right that it is their eighth album, but it's also their seventh LP. Poussiere (talk) 15:06, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but when you look at Maneuvering, it is 44:28, thus longer than the LPs of Laudenum (42:07) and Per Aspera (40:47). Also, technically that's not an EP, whether you go by U.S. standards (less than 30 minutes) or UK standards (both less than 25 minutes *and* less than 5 tracks). And having the cover of Refinement prominently imply "8th album" (or "8th release" if you prefer) yet have the article stating it's a 7th, I think that's just confusing for a reader.
How about dropping that "EP" qualifier from Maneuvering? Or how about writing the album article leads just counting them all as "albums" (discounting LP album vs EP album) or counting them as "releases"? Thus having Refinement be qualified as their "8th album" or at least "8th release", and so on? I think that would make much more sense for readers; the EP thing seems dubious and pointless in this context. 62.147.37.223 (talk) 20:09, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Maneuvering's cover art itself states that it's an EP. See discogs' image. Refinement of the Decline is their seventh album, period. = ∫tc 5th Eye 20:14, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
So the album counts should be updated since, by your own mode of reasoning, Refinement's cover art itself states that it's their 8th release, period. 62.147.39.177 (talk) 19:55, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't say that explicitly. = ∫tc 5th Eye 00:25, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

band's musical description

[edit]

When I was reading the article's introduction I found a rather strange sentence, regarding to the band's music:

"Their sound has been described as 'divine, classical drone without the tedious intrusion of drums or vocals'.

I thought it was kind of hilarious, at first, but after then, when I visited the reference page I came across this line:

"A wise man once described SOTL as 'divine classical drones without the tedious intrusion of drums, or vocals.'"

When I read the first sentence, I asked myself: "who could have said something like this?". It is a strong and very personal sentence. Almost as if it was written by some critic, or a fan. Only then to find out it was written by a "wise man". In my opinion this line should be removed, because it seems too personal, clashing with the impartialism an encyclopedia should have. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 187.106.53.22 (talk) 05:13, 22 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Picture

I know that there is no other image available, however the current one only shows the violinists who play with Adam and Brian. BeŻet (talk) 12:35, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
